LAPD NEWS
The Los Alamos County Animal Shelter is making several changes in order to comply with COVID-19 best practices. The Animal Shelter will now be closed to normal public access and volunteers until further notice. However, there are still several animals that need a home, so the shelter will try to set up appointments allowing citizens to see the animals for possible adoption.
The Animal Shelter will allow appointments to be made to see adoptable pets from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day except Thursday which will remained closed for extensive cleaning. Animal surrenders will be looked at on a case to case basis.
Currently there are 9 kitten/cats and 7 dogs that are looking for their forever home. Please make an appointment or call to see when you can come in to see these animals.
The shelter can be reached at 505-662-8179.
The Shelter may modify the hours and appointments allowed depending on further guidance surrounding the COVID-19.
