DPU Recommends Customers Conduct Business By Phone Or Email

In light of New Mexico Governor Lujan-Grisham’s public health emergency announced Wednesday, Mar. 11, officials with the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities encourage its customers to conduct business with the department by phone or email as much as possible.

Customer Care representatives can transfer utilities services, verify account information or utility bills, and issue banner permits all by phone. Customers can reach the department Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 505.662.8333 or CustomerCare@lacnm.us. Payments can be made online at https://ladpu.com/paymentus or by phone at 1-866-417-0694.

“We understand that some transactions need to be conducted in person,” stated Utilities Manager Philo Shelton.  “In those instances, please come into our office and my staff will assist you.” DPU offices are located at 1000 Central Avenue, Suite 130, Los Alamos, NM.

The Department of Public Utilities (DPU) operates the county-owned electric, gas, water & wastewater systems under the jurisdiction of the Board of Public Utilities. Board meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at 1000 Central Avenue, Los Alamos, NM. The public is welcome. Funded by rates paid for electric, gas, water and wastewater services and auxiliary fees, the DPU has provided the community with these services for more than 50 years.
