SCIENCE ON TAP NEWS

Join the Bradbury Science Museum and the Los Alamos Creative District for Science On Tap Monday, March 16 at 5:30 p.m. at Boese Brothers Brewpub, 145 Central Park Square. This On Tap will feature a conversation with Chonggang Xu on the increasing impacts of extreme droughts on vegetation productivity. Beer and other drinks will be available for purchase at Boese Brothers, and some complimentary food will also be served, courtesy of the Los Alamos Creative District.

Xu, from the Lab’s Earth System Observations (EES-14) group, will discuss the extraordinary research happening at the Lab in the quest to better understand climate change drivers and impacts. The On Tap series begins each evening with an informal 10-15 minute topic introduction by the speaker, followed by a lively group discussion. All ages are welcome! The series is a way for people to get out and about in the community, learn something new, and meet people with similar interests. Registration for these events is not required, and admission is always free.

Science On Tap is sponsored by the Bradbury Science Museum in partnership with the Los Alamos Creative District and hosted at local restaurants and watering holes in Los Alamos County. For the remainder of 2020, not only will the Science On Tap events rotate venues, but sponsors will also provide complimentary food for most events. Visit the Bradbury website or CreativeLosAlamos.com for the monthly Science On Tap location.

In addition to monthly Science On Taps, the Los Alamos Creative District also hosts quarterly Culture On Taps and partners with the Los Alamos Historical Society and Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) on History and Nature On Tap discussions, respectively.
