COUNTY NEWS
The Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) will be updating its energy and water conservation plan this year to meet state and federal requirements. As part of this process, DPU is inviting customers to volunteer to participate in a committee to develop conservation initiatives to recommend to the Board of Public Utilities.
Los Alamos businesses and citizens who are interested are encouraged to complete a survey of interest online. The businesses link is: https://ladpu.com/Business-InterestSurvey and the citizen link is: https://ladpu.com/Citizen-InterestSurvey. Businesses and individuals that represent a cross section of the community will be selected to sit on the ten-member committee. DPU estimates that the committee will meet every other week for an hour for a total of seven meetings. Actual meeting dates and times will be determined by the committee. The committee will be tasked to write a report of recommendations for the Board of Public Utilities to consider adopting and incorporating into the energy and water conservation plan to realize conservation goals.
DPU officials indicate that the business and citizen surveys are open now and will remain open until Monday, Feb. 3 at 10 a.m. Selected individuals will be notified no later than Feb. 15, 2020. Questions can be directed to the Customer Care Center at 505 662 8333 or CustomerCare@lacnm.us.
