LAHS NEWS
You’ve submitted the application, written the essays and requested letters of recommendation. You know which school you want to attend after high school. Now it’s time to answer the big question: How will I pay for it?
Your Los Alamos High School counselors can help you with answers to this question as they present their annual Financial Aid Night for seniors and their parents on Monday, Oct. 21.
The presentation will begin at 5:30 pm in the Speech Theater.
The school counseling team of Cindy Black, Cristin Haake and Dawn Watkins, and Jenny
Duran, Financial Aid Officer at UNM-LA, will provide information about FAFSA (Free
Application for Federal Student Aid), CSS Profile, scholarships, grants, work study
programs, loan programs, reciprocal tuition, Lab-UC and Texas A&M, and WUE.
“This is one of the scariest questions that students and parents face when considering their school choices,” said Cindy Black, LAHS school counselor. “Our goal is to present students and parents with as many options and opportunities for paying for their education as possible.”
The FAFSA for the 2020 – 2021 school year opened Oct. 1. Chromebooks will be available
for students and parents to use to get started on the FAFSA. For more information about the Financial Aid Information Night, please contact the LAHS School Counseling office at 663-2797.
