The church itself was built in the 1800s and, while old, is certainly not the oldest Catholic Church in New Mexico (but it is one of the most famous, with something like 200,000 visitors annually). This church also contains a small room with a small round pit which contains holy dirt, believed to have healing powers. Photo by Stephen Lee/Dark Glass Photography
