Join PEEC for two free family-friendly events on Tuesday, April 9 at the Los Alamos Nature Center. At 5:30 p.m. one a PEEC educator will lead a Family Star Party in the planetarium and introduce kids to constellations, planets and more in an informal setting. Later, families are invited to join Melissa Mackey for Family Night from 6 to 7 p.m. to enjoy making a unique craft in the classroom.
No registration is required for either event and families are invited to come to one or both of these offerings. Family Nights are free thanks to generous sponsorship from Kiwanis Club. The nature center is also open until 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and families are welcome to enjoy the exhibits and play areas throughout the evening. Family Star Parties and Family Nights take place the second Tuesday of every month.
If community members would like to support PEEC’s Family Star Parties, please join New Mexico Bank & Trust for a Shred Day on Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. during PEEC’s Earth Day Festival. Stop by the branch at 1475 Central Ave. and bring up to two boxes or 50 pounds of paper to shred. It is free to participate in the Shred Day, but New Mexico Bank & Trust will be accepting donations to support PEEC’s Family Star Parties.
