ST JOB OF POCHAIV NEWS
On April 13 and 14, his Eminence, Archbishop DANIEL of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA will visit Los Alamos and his parish, Saint Job of Pochaiv Orthodox Church. He will preside at the Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. on both days.
On Saturday, he will consecrate the Holy Altar of the church, placing in it relics of the martyrs and anointing it with Holy Oil. This is a singular event in the life of a local church and will likely never be repeated. It marks the permanence of the parish here in the community.
On Sunday he will ordain our own Lorenzo Lucero a Deacon in the Church.
Archbishop DANIEL will be available to speak with parishioners and those who are curious about the Orthodox Faith. We will share a light meal after both services, and all are welcome to come join us.
The bishop is the shepherd of the local church, and the priest and deacons only serve with his blessing. We love our bishop and are blessed whenever he is able to be with us. Archbishop DANIEL is the hierarch of the Western Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA, and he endeavors to visit each of his parishes at least once a year.
This year he will share our celebration of the Sunday of Mary of Egypt, the fifth Sunday of the Great Fast.
Come visit and celebrate God’s love with us!
