The game lived up to its billing, with both teams trading chances and refusing to give an inch.

From the opening whistle, the Lady Hilltoppers competed with intensity and determination. Neither side was able to create much separation, and the contest stayed tight through regulation, forcing the game into overtime. Even after two extra periods of play, the teams remained neck and neck until St. Pius found the decisive goal.

Though the result didn’t go Los Alamos’ way, the Lady Hilltoppers left everything on the field, showing the resilience and heart that defined their season.

A Season to Be Proud Of

While the loss stings, the Lady Hilltoppers have plenty to hold their heads high about. Their season was nothing short of remarkable, marked by strong performances, teamwork, and perseverance.

The highlight of the year came when the Lady Hilltoppers defeated Albuquerque Academy in Academy’s own tournament, a feat that had not been accomplished in 12 years. The historic win was the team’s biggest accomplishment of the season and a signal of just how special this group was.

Reaching the semifinals and pushing the No. 2 team to the limit in double overtime is a testament to the program’s talent, dedication, and character.
