Much to Mr. Ryti’s delight, I think this will be the last one for a while. I thank him for responding to each one and generally informing me.
Though the entire North Mesa Park issue is really my problem with the change from open space to cluttered space, and the bicycle park is only a part of that issue, the REAL issue here is lack of communication.
Our County Council (and many others in this town!) need to realize that not everyone spends their personal time on-line searching for things that may affect them in social media and various web sites. Some of us view social media as gossip and unreliable at best. Of course, that could be said of the internet here in town recently, as evidenced by the frequent lengthy down time. When I notice, it’s getting bad. Searching websites is just not an option, since many are not updated and knowing which one in a myriad of similar sites will give you the real scoop is a science in its own right.
There have been surveys, but they have been very general and, as I learned first in Econ 101 and later in various jobs, the data can be skewed to say whatever you want it to say! I would suggest that the LA Daily Post and Los Alamos Reporter be given the Council agendas earlier so that they can be printed before the meeting instead of the day after! And that the agendas be more detailed, so that we know exactly what is being discussed and whether it is just being discussed or decided upon. And I would suggest that the practice of personally notifying the homeowners in adjoining areas be resumed. At least notifications in the mailbox.
Lastly, just out of curiosity, why didn’t the County order the pump part for the pool when
all of this was originally disassembled? Surely they knew they would need one!
Thank you again, especially Mr. Ryti.
