Free Palestine Film Series To Host ‘Seeds For Liberation’ Tuesday, Oct. 13 At SALA

BY JODY BENSON
Los Alamos

Saturday is the No Kings Protest at Ashley Pond and across the nation.  It’s all connected. All struggles for justice — across geography, race, and history, from the American Civil Rights Movement to the struggle for justice in Gaza — grow from the same seed.

It is in this vein of working against totalitarianism that the Free Palestine Movie Series is presenting “Seeds For Liberation.” on Tuesday, October 13 at 6:30 at SALAOur Los Alamos group has been witnessing the Gaza ethnic-cleansing since October 2023.  The free film will be followed by a zoom conversation with the director. Despite the so-called cease fire attached to Trump’s Gaza peace plan almost a year ago, there has been little peace, and as of October 10, 2026, Gaza war casualties were 77,271 Palestinians with 2,046 Israelis dead since the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023.

I affirm the State of Israel has the right to exist.  I affirm Gaza and the West Bank have the right to exist.  Ethnic cleansing of any of the areas does not support existence.

Please join us for this free film followed by a discussion with the producer via Zoom.  The world must say ENOUGH!

Thank you all for your dedication to peace.

Why this film?

“Seeds for Liberation” was born out of a deep urgency — not just to document, but to connect. The events of October 7, 2023, became a global flashpoint, but for many, they marked a continuation of a struggle nearly eight decades in the making. As a filmmaker, Director Matthew Solomon wanted to center Palestinian voices while also situating their liberation within a broader legacy of anti-imperialist and decolonial movements — from Black resistance in the U.S. to Chicano activism and beyond. In a world saturated with filtered narratives and state-sponsored erasure, social media has cracked open a window — giving us raw, direct access to the truths on the ground. This film asks: What does solidarity truly look like? And how do our struggles for justice — across geography, race, and history — grow from the same seed?
