Los Alamos Symphony Presents A Fall Concert Featuring Dance Collaboration With DALA

LASO NEWS RELEASE

The Los Alamos Symphony Orchestra invites the community to its Fall Concert on Saturday, October 3 at 7:00 p.m. at Duane Smith Auditorium at Los Alamos High School.

The one-hour concert will feature two contrasting and exciting works. The Symphony will open with Elena Kats-Chernin’s colorful Dance of the Paper Umbrellas, featuring a special collaboration with DALA dancers Nora Anderson, Jana Gauss, and Leila Von Reyn. The choreography is by Rachel Zervakos and the dancers, bringing music and movement together for a lively and imaginative performance.

The orchestra will then perform Antonín Dvořák’s beloved and rousing Symphony No. 9, “From the New World.” The concert will be conducted by William Waag, a longtime music educator and conductor in northern New Mexico.

The concert is free and open to the public, with no presale tickets. Donations will be gratefully accepted at the door to support the Los Alamos Symphony’s programs, performances, and community outreach.
