LAYSL NEWS RELEASE
Los Alamos Youth Soccer League (LAYSL) is inviting local families and community members to join them for a special LAYSL Night at the New Mexico United game this Saturday, Sept. 26.
The event is open to everyone, whether or not they currently have a child playing in LAYSL, so bring friends, cousins, neighbors, grandparents. When tickets are purchased through the LAYSL ticket link, $5 from each ticket sold will go directly back to LAYSL as a fundraiser supporting youth soccer in Los Alamos.
In addition to watching New Mexico United take the field against Sacramento Republic FC, LAYSL players will have opportunities to experience the game from much closer than the stands.
Children attending with the Los Alamos group will be invited down to the sideline to watch the United players warm up before the match. After the game, they will also have an opportunity to meet players, take pictures and get autographs.
Players over age 12 may also have the opportunity to serve as ball managers during the match, giving them the chance to watch professional soccer from the sideline and be part of the game-day experience.
Saturday is also New Mexico United’s annual Meow Wolf Night, one of the club’s special promotional nights. United will take the field in special Meow Wolf-themed kits, which will also be available for fans to purchase.
Families are encouraged to arrive early for the pregame Fan Fest, hosted by Meow Wolf and New Mexico United in the UNM parking lot. Families can tailgate before the match, and kids will have the opportunity to design and create their own flags as part of the festivities.
For LAYSL, the night is an opportunity to bring Los Alamos’ soccer community together, give young players a chance to see professional soccer up close, and raise money that will help support the local league.
Community members do not need to be part of LAYSL to participate or support the fundraiser. Anyone purchasing tickets through the LAYSL link will have $5 of their ticket purchase donated back to the league.
