PAC 8 is offering some new classes this autumn. New this year is a drone class which includes FPV flying. FPV stands for First Person View – a method of flying a remote-controlled drone by watching a live video feed from an onboard camera.

When using a FPV drone, the operator wears special video goggles to see exactly what the drone sees in real time, creating an immersive experience as if the pilot were sitting inside the drone. This class will be held on Oct. 12 (school holiday) from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. The cost for this class is $90.

PAC 8 is also offering a class on Sept. 26 from 9:30  a.m. – 2 p.m. during Discovery Day.  Students will learn how to use a camera, tripod and microphones to record interviews at Ashley Pond. Students will record hands-on activities, exhibits and live demonstrations and then learn how to edit their footage to create a video. The cost for this class is $75.
