COOPERATIVE EXTENSION SERVICE NEWS RELEASE

We are pleased to welcome Dianne Wilburn to the Los Alamos Cooperative Extension Service as the Agriculture and 4-H Extension Agent. Dianne brings more than 35 years of experience in environmental science, operations, safety, and organizational leadership. Her extensive professional background includes 30 years of service at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where she held a variety of technical and leadership roles, as well as prior experience working with state environmental agencies.

Dianne holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from North Carolina State University and has earned master’s degrees in both Environmental Science and Agricultural Science. Her diverse educational and professional experiences provide a strong foundation for supporting the agricultural/horticulture community, youth development programs, and educational outreach efforts throughout Los Alamos County.

Originally from North Carolina, Dianne moved to Los Alamos with her family in 1996 and has since developed deep roots within the community. Over the years, she has been actively involved in numerous local organizations and volunteer leadership roles, including service on the Los Alamos County Fair and Rodeo, Library, and Parks and Recreation boards. Her long-standing commitment to community engagement, combined with her passion for agriculture and youth development, makes her exceptionally well-suited for this role.

We are excited to have Dianne join our team, and look forward to the knowledge, experience, and dedication she will bring to the Cooperative Extension Service and the residents of Los Alamos County.
