The Pitt may win at the Emmy Awards tonight but it is fiction.

If you want to see real life medical drama and heroes, go see the documentary, American Doctor. There are two showings this week, Wednesday 1:00 p.m.and 9:00 p.m., and Thursday, 3:40 p.m. and 6:15 p.m., at the Midtown Sky Cinema in Santa Fe. I had the opportunity to
watch the screening Friday night hosted by Santa Fe Jews for Justice Education Project.

The film follows three American doctors providing care to injured Palestinians in Gaza. It is eye-opening and extremely moving as the doctors navigate the horrors of the Israeli war on the Palestinians in Gaza and their advocacy for justice in the halls of our Congress.

To date it is thought over 1,700 healthcare providers have been murdered in the conflict, and 90% of healthcare facilities have been destroyed or are no longer able to function.

Additionally, over 400 Palestinian medical personnel such as Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, a pediatrician and former director of Kamal Adwan Hospital have been detained by the Israeli military without charge for years.

There is no ceasefire for Palestinians.
