On Tuesday, Sept. 15 the US observes National Voter Registration Day, the country’s largest single-day voter registration effort. Now is a good time to check your registration and learn about the candidates and issues on the Nov. 3 ballot. Don’t forget to ask your friends and relatives if they are registered. The local League of Women Voters will have a table at the Los Alamos Farmer’s Market on Thursday, Sept. 17 in case you need information about voting.

Voters in New Mexico can check their voter registration at https://voterportal.servis.sos.state.nm.us and update the information if necessary.

Early Voting in Person begins on Tuesday, Oct. 6 in the Council Chambers in the Los Alamos County Municipal Building. If you prefer to Vote Early in White Rock, that begins in the White Rock Town Hall on Saturday, Oct. 17.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. The County Vote Centers will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Registered voters of Los Alamos County may vote at any of the Vote Centers on Election Day. The Voter Guide distributed by the League of Woman Voters will be delivered inside the Los Alamos Daily Post on Thursday, Oct. 1. Look inside this paper edition because the Voter Guide contains important statements from the candidates and information about the local charter amendments and state constitutional amendments, as well as the bond issues.

The League of Women Voters will hold a candidate forum at UNM-LA on Thursday, Oct. 1. It begins at 7 p.m. with time to socialize at 6:30 pm. Come hear what the candidates have to say!
