COUNTY NEWS RELEASE

As part of the equipment installation for the computer room air conditioning system upgrade at the Los Alamos County Police Department, a 40-ton crane will travel through town on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

The crane’s route will follow NM 502/East Road to Trinity Drive, arriving at 2500 Trinity Drive. Movement is scheduled between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.

The parking lot on the south side (Trinity Drive side) of the Los Alamos County Police Department will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. to accommodate crane operations. All crane activity will remain within the south parking lot area. Please refer to the map below for details.

Once the equipment is installed, the crane will demobilize along the same route later that morning, and the parking lot will reopen immediately after its departure.

Residents and visitors are advised to exercise caution near the staging area to ensure safety during the lift. Los Alamos County appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation as this important facility upgrade is completed.
