Operational Update: Firefighters will continue focusing on the remaining active portions of the Frijoles Fire while expanding suppression repair and gradually reducing resources as operational needs decrease. Enough personnel and equipment will remain available to support ongoing operations.
Hotshots crews will engage in direct suppression along the southern edge of the fire, progressing northeast as conditions allow. Crews working in the northeast portion of the fire will continue accessing the area on foot, engaging remaining heat where it is safe to do so.
Firefighters will ensure pockets of heat are extinguished on the western side of the fire, in addition to conducting minimal suppression work.
Suppression repair groups are still rehabilitating areas disturbed during firefighting operations. Work will include repairing dozer and handlines, addressing erosion and drainage concerns, removing equipment and restoring disturbed areas where suppression features are no longer needed.
Crews and heavy equipment remain north of the fire and are working to prepare contingency lines and improve existing roads as well as other control features.
Air Quality: Today, Nambé will have unhealthy for sensitive groups smoke this morning and good air quality this afternoon. Santa Fe and Valley Vista should have mostly good air quality today, with moderate conditions in the morning. Mora can expect smoky conditions and moderate air quality all day. Weather: Hot and dry conditions will continue today with temperatures reaching the upper 80s and relative humidity dropping into the low 20% range during the afternoon. Moisture will begin to increase slightly, bringing more cloud cover and a small increase in thunderstorms.
Evacuations: In Santa Fe County, all of Cundiyo, Cerro Piñon, and the Borrego Mesa area—specifically near Forest Roads 440 and 306—are in “Set” status. Nambe Pueblo Lake remains in “Ready” status. For more information, please visit https://www.santafecountynm.

Closures: There is a road closure for NM 503 between County Road 98 and State Road 76. Visitors are encouraged to avoid the fire area and use caution when traveling near firefighting operations.
