COUNTY NEWS RELEASE

The Los Alamos Public Library has opened its call for contributors to Atomicon, the library’s annual community ComiCon. The event will take place Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Now in its fifth year, Atomicon offers a full day of art, activities, one-shot games and fun centered on comic books, superheroes, gaming, fantasy, science fiction, fan fiction, anime, manga, collectibles, and cosplay.

The library invites participation from artists, authors, gamers and game developers, collectors and local organizations in three categories:

• Vendors: Individuals or businesses wishing to sell items at Atomicon may register as vendors. Vendor tables will be located at Fuller Lodge.

• Activity and Demo Tables: Individuals or organizations leading activities or offering demonstrations may register in this category. These tables are for exhibiting, teaching, crafting, or sharing information — not selling — and will be located at Mesa Public Library.

• Collectors Show: New this year, the library invites collectors of all ages to exhibit their collections as part of a community show-and-tell. People who have curious, interesting collectibles they would like to share with their community are welcome.

A single registration form is available for entries in all three categories. The form is available on the library website losalamoslibrary.org For more information, contact Librarian Melissa Mackey at (505)709-5489 or mj.mackey@losalamosnm.gov
