Leadership Los Alamos is celebrating 24 years of bringing people together to learn, connect, and discover new ways to make a difference in the community. Applications are currently open for the 2026–2027 Leadership Los Alamos class, with the deadline extended to July 31.
For nearly a quarter of a century, Leadership Los Alamos has helped develop and empower current and emerging leaders throughout Los Alamos County. The program provides participants with a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes of the organizations, industries, and initiatives that shape the community.
Through interactive sessions, conversations with local leaders, and firsthand experiences with organizations throughout Los Alamos, participants gain a deeper understanding of how the community operates and the many people working to make it thrive.
The program also provides a valuable opportunity to build relationships and create connections across the community. Whether participants work remotely, commute to Los Alamos, or have lived here for years, Leadership Los Alamos offers a way to expand their network, meet people from a variety of backgrounds, and become more engaged in the place they call home.
“Leadership Los Alamos is about more than leadership skills. It is about building relationships and creating connections that strengthen our community,” said the Leadership Los Alamos Board. “Each class brings together people with different experiences and perspectives, and those connections often continue long after the program ends.”
Throughout the program year, participants explore topics and organizations that impact daily life in Los Alamos while developing leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. Many graduates continue to serve the community through volunteer efforts, civic involvement, and leadership roles across local organizations.
The 2026–2027 program runs from August 2026 through April 2027. Scholarship opportunities are available.
