On January 23, 2025, the New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau received a CyberTip from the New Mexico Department of Justice’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. The CyberTip report identified two media files of suspected Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) that were uploaded via Facebook Messenger. On September 17, 2025, agents executed a search warrant at Gatlin’s residence, where additional CSAM was discovered. Gatlin was arrested and charged with Sexual Exploitation of Children (Possession) and booked into the Sierra County Adult Detention Center.
On July 7, 2026, Gatlin plead guilty to the charge of Sexual Exploitation of Children (Possession), a 4th degree felony, and was sentenced to 10 years in state prison.
