COUNTY NEWS RELEASE
The Community Services Department (CSD), in partnership with Groundwork Studio, has completed the initial listening sessions and survey results for Dinosaur Park, located on Barranca Mesa, and has scheduled a Community Engagement Meeting on July 8, 2026, at 5:30pm at Fuller Lodge, Los Alamos.
The purpose of the previous listening sessions was to hear from the community about what you love about the park, what to keep in mind throughout the project, and any ideas for what you would like to see. CSD and Groundwork Studio share conceptual designs based on your feedback. Two concepts will be presented for further discussion and refinement. We look forward to your comments as we continue to refine this playground.
Once the concept is refined, the next steps are to design, develop construction documents, and provide construction administration services for the renovation of Dinosaur Playground. The overall renovations will include ADA/Safety improvements, new play structures, shade, and supporting amenities, with a focus on unstructured play, accessibility, neighborhood pedestrian connections, and community engagement.
If your schedule does not align with this meeting, it will be recorded and posted on the CSD project page. The concepts will be posted at the Mesa Public Library for additional community feedback. The survey is now available on the project page to gather additional community feedback for the Dinosaur Playground.
The survey link below to access and answer questions about the renovations will officially open at 12:00 PM (noon) on July 8 to collect additional thoughts.
