Los Alamos County 2026 Primary Post-Election Audit Complete

COUNTY NEWS RELEASE

Los Alamos County Clerk’s Office has completed the required accuracy check—known as the Post-Election Audit—of the tabulation systems used during the June 2, 2026 Primary Election. The audit was conducted on June 24, 2026, at the County Clerk’s Warehouse in the Los Alamos Municipal Building.

County Clerk Michael Redondo appointed a bipartisan team of election workers to oversee the audit. As mandated by state law, Zlotnik & Sandoval, PC, an accounting firm, selected Precinct 3 for a voting system audit of the Secretary of State race. The audit, using statistical methods, compared hand-counted ballots from Precinct 3 with the machine-tabulated results. The audit confirmed the accuracy of the tabulation process, with the hand counts exactly matching the machine counts for all voting channels—early, absentee, and election day voting.

Clerk Redondo emphasized the importance of election integrity, stating, “We routinely perform an audit of this nature after every election so that our citizens can have confidence in the accuracy and integrity of the election results.”

The verified results have been submitted to Zlotnik & Sandoval, PC, and to the New Mexico Secretary of State, as required by law. They will also be available for public viewing on the County Clerk’s website at www.losalamosnm.us/clerk.  For further information, visit the Clerk’s website or contact the office at 505-662-8010 or clerks@lacnm.us.
