COUNTY NEWS RELEASE
The 4th of July is here, and Los Alamos County is ready to celebrate 250 years! The Fourth of July Spectacular will be held on Saturday, July 4, at Overlook Park in White Rock, from 4:00pm – 10:00pm.
Important items to note for this year’s Fourth of July Spectacular Event:
- The Main event location will be Dara Jones Soccer Field, not Sprio Field.
- Spirio Field is closed to pedestrians and spectators.
- Only limited Handicapped Parking will be allowed within Overlook Park.
- Atomic City Transit Riders will have to walk from the normal bus pick-up/drop-off location at Spirio Field to Dara Jones Soccer Field.
- The entire northern Section of Overlook Park will be closed to the public.
- Grills will not be allowed on Dara Jones Soccer Field.
The day of entertainment begins at 4:00pm with Sysygy, followed by Radio Blast at 5:00pm.
Our headliner, Matchbox Twenty Too– A Matchbox Twenty Tribute band – will take the stage at 7:00pm to bring the house down and get the event attendees dancing and singing to their favorite songs at Overlook Park.
Beginning at 9:00pm, the Fourth of July Spectacular will launch an extended drone show provided by Sky Elements, which will conclude the event at 9:30pm. There will not be a fireworks display this year due to the Stage 2 Fire Restrictions.
Food vendors will be located within the gravel parking area, parallel to the Dara Jones Soccer Field. Other vendors will be on the Dara Jones Soccer Field to have visibility and interaction with attendees.
As always, the Atomic City Transit will be running in support of this event from 3:00pm to 10:30pm. Pick-up locations are Pinon Elementary & the White Rock Visitor Center, in White Rock, and the Lemon Lot, in Los Alamos. Additionally, the Sullivan Field parking lot will be available for event attendees to park and take the shuttle. Paratransit services for certified and registered customers will also be provided. Please call the ACT administrative offices to schedule your ride, (505) 661-RIDE (7433). Also, please note that all ACT buses will pause from 9:00pm – 9:30pm.
