Living Treasures of Los Alamos

The board of Living Treasures of Los Alamos is pleased to announce the selection of three new Living Treasures for 2026. The selection comes after reviewing more than 100 nomination letters submitted by community members.

Linda Daly, well-known for her years of dedicated service to the Los Alamos Family YMCA, was selected for her continued service to the community through leadership in the Kiwanis Clug, the Los Alamos Medical Center Advisory Board, and the Los Alamos Community Foundation.

John Ruminer will receive the honor for his important contributions to the preservation of Los Alamos history, in particular his work with the Los Alamos Historical Society’s Oppenheimer and Bethe houses.

Kyle Wheeler is recognized for her long service to Los Alamos County as a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission, as a County Councilor who pushed to establish the local recycling program, and for her many years of service to the board of Living Treasures.

A ceremony to honor Linda, John, and Kyle will held on September 27 in Fuller Lodge. Watch for full biographies and portraits of the three new Living Treasures coming in September.

Since 1999, Living Treasures of Los Alamos has honored 108 Los Alamos seniors or near-seniors whose length and breadth of volunteer service to the community stands to demonstrate to others the value of a life well-lived.
