New Mexico Fight For Life Announces 4th Annual Masquerade Gala Ball Fundraiser

NEW MEXICO FIGHT FOR LIFE NEWS RELEASE

New Mexico Fight For Life is proud to announce its 4th Annual Gala Fundraiser, taking place as a formal dinner and dance on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at the Farmers Market Pavilion in the Railyard District of Santa Fe. The evening will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Held during National Suicide Prevention Month, this year’s “Masquerade Gala Ball” will bring the community together for an elegant evening featuring dinner, dancing, entertainment, and fundraising in support of suicide prevention, mental health awareness, advocacy, education, and community support programs throughout New Mexico.

The event’s featured message, “Behind Every Mask Is A Story Worth Saving,” reflects the organization’s mission to encourage open conversations surrounding mental health and to remind individuals that they are not alone in their struggles.

The evening will also serve as a meaningful opportunity for the community to stand beside individuals who may be struggling silently, as well as families, friends, and loved ones who have experienced the devastating loss of loved ones to suicide and want to see the fight for mental health awareness and suicide prevention continue.

New Mexico currently ranks 5th in the nation for the highest suicide rate and 2nd in the nation for teen and adolescent suicide rates, statistics that continue to highlight the urgent need for increased mental health awareness, prevention efforts, advocacy, education, and accessible support services throughout the state.

New Mexico Fight For Life hopes this event will not only raise critical funding for programs and outreach efforts, but also continue important conversations surrounding mental health, healing, hope, and suicide prevention across New Mexico communities.

Guests are encouraged to attend in formal attire and masquerade masks as the organization creates a memorable evening centered on hope, healing, and connection. The gala will also feature guest speakers, silent auction opportunities, formal dinner and dance entertainment, and special presentations honoring lives impacted by mental health challenges and suicide loss.

Formal invitations and additional event details will be released in the coming weeks.

New Mexico Fight For Life was founded by Ashley Detzel, who turned her pain into purpose following the tragic loss of her husband, Justin Hatfield, who died by suicide. Created out of love, loss, and resilience, the organization was built to honor Justin’s legacy by helping save lives and supporting others facing mental health struggles, grief, crisis, emotional hardship, and helping families and friends navigate the painful process of losing loved ones to suicide.

What began from heartbreak has grown into a mission focused on advocacy, awareness, education, and compassion for individuals and families throughout New Mexico. Through community outreach, suicide prevention efforts, support initiatives, and public awareness campaigns, New Mexico Fight For Life continues working to ensure that no one feels alone in their darkest moments.

Funds raised during the gala directly support the programs and initiatives created through New Mexico Fight For Life. For sponsorship opportunities, media inquiries, or additional event information, more details will be announced soon.
