Preliminary design concepts for preventing vehicles from leaving Trinity Drive and entering Ashley Pond Park are now available to you to provide feedback on between today and August 2.

Review the designs and provide your feedback at the County’s consultation page for this project. Three design concepts were drafted with a contractor, Groundworks Studio, to provide different options of protecting park-goers from the potential of vehicles intentionally or unintentionally leaving Trinity Drive, while also improving or complementing the aesthetic of the park.

One design focuses on the use of round concrete piers that provide a clean, functional look. The second design focuses on adding large, raised planters to provide a formal garden look. The final concept blends the safety structure into the park through the use of large boulders with native, ground-level plantings around them.

In the meantime, concrete barriers have been re-installed along the corridor to provide a safety barrier during the busy summer season. To help blend the temporary barrier in better, we painted them and are soliciting anyone who’s interested to sign-up and paint a section, much like the Community Art Tunnel. The goal of this process is to bring community voices into the discussion at the various board review sessions. We are aiming to have the new feature installed by mid-May of 2027.
