LTE: Katharine Clark For Secretary Of State – Competence, Not Chaos

BY AMY STOREY

Katharine E. Clark (D) is the only candidate in this Secretary of State primary who has sued Donald Trump over election interference. A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley in Cognitive Neuroscience and Moral Psychology and an MBA in Strategic Management and Public Policy, Clark combines academic rigor with real-world executive experience. She has modernized one of New Mexico’s most complex election jurisdictions, Santa Fe, and earned national recognition for election administration, and built a reputation for transparent, competent elections in a county with tribal voting, ranked-choice voting, and among the highest turnout of large counties in New Mexico.

That is why Clark has earned support from leaders in Los Alamos County, including Representative Christine Chandler and nearly every elected official in the county. For voters who value competence, transparency, science, evidence, and public service over politics, the contrast could not be clearer.

New Mexico deserves a Secretary of State who cannot be pressured by insiders, large donors, or political power and who understands that democracy is protected through disciplined, transparent administration.

Competence, not chaos.
