The Los Alamos Community Foundation is seeking an Anchorum Fellow Grants Manager to join the team.
Last year, the Anchorum Fellow Grant Manager granted more than $175,000 to local nonprofits. This job requires organization, writing skills, and the ability to collaborate with others.
The position is a hybrid 20-32 hours per week.

Details: The Anchorum Fellow will be fully funded by the Anchorum Health Foundation (AHF) donor-advised fund. The Fellow will be part of the Anchorum Fellows Cohort, which will meet regularly and share information and strategies, but the Fellow will be an employee of the Los Alamos Community Foundation.
Term: This position will be a part-time (20-32 hours a week) hybrid position. This position may be funded by AHF for up to three more years. After that time, the position may be funded by Los Alamos Community Foundation.
Some of the Responsibilities of the Anchorum Fellow Grants Manager include the following:
Liaison: Serve as the primary liaison between LACF and AHF, facilitating communication, sharing best practices, and disseminating lessons learned to promote cross-learning and collaboration across regions.
Capacity Building: Each Fellow will collaborate closely with AHF and LACF to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for capacity building, providing tailored support and resources to enhance the community foundation’s ability to address community health needs effectively.
Partnership Development: Cultivate and strengthen partnerships with local organizations, healthcare providers, government agencies, and other stakeholders to leverage resources, share best practices, and maximize impact in addressing community health needs.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret data on community health indicators, program outcomes, and community feedback to inform decision-making, track progress, and report on the impact and effectiveness of initiatives (currently LAUNCH) supported by the community foundations. Contribute to initiative-wide evaluation, impact assessment, and strategy activities to support the evolution of the Los Alamos Community Foundation’s Health and Wellness Initiative over time.
Community Outreach and Marketing: Bring together multiple stakeholders and community members to learn more about the health needs in the community. Hold and attend community meetings on a variety of topics to develop relationships with community members and hear multiple voices and perspectives to inform grantmaking. Contribute to LACF social media, press releases, and other marketing/promotion initiatives. Support, lead, and advertise ABC training opportunities.
Grant Program: Collaborate with AHF and LACF staff and work with local stakeholders and community residents to manage the grant process for DAF funds. This includes: updating the website, revising grant letters and contracts, communicating with local nonprofits, facilitating the grant review process with the local committee, presenting information to Anchorum for review, collecting data, writing press releases, and creating social media posts about the grant process and/or recipients.
Sample Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, community development, communications, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience working in community development, public health, philanthropy, grantmaking, or grant writing.
Strong understanding of the social, economic, and environmental factors that influence community health and well-being, particularly in diverse and underserved communities.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders, build consensus, and drive collective action towards shared goals.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, utilize critical thinking, and adapt to changing priorities and environments.
Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with a passion for advancing health equity and social justice in underserved communities.
Must have reliable transportation to attend occasional out-of-town meetings.
