BY THERESA CULL
Candidate for
Los Alamos County Council
I’ve been asked why I decided to run for a second term on County Council, so I thought I would try to give an answer. I usually joke that I was coerced in some way, but the truth is that I made this decision on my own and it boils down to this: I love Los Alamos.
I was in awe and in love the first time I drove up the Main Hill Road over 40 years ago. There aren’t many places like Los Alamos with scenery that can take your breath away every day. And there are many people I have gotten to know through my work at the Laboratory, playing sports, and being involved in my children’s activities. So many people have had an impact on my life (even if I don’t always remember your name!).
I feel privileged to have been given so much that I want to continue to use my experience and my time giving back to this community. One way to do that is to continue serving on County Council. You might ask, what do I get out of it? I get to help people solve problems and get help when they need it. I get to make decisions that will help continue to make Los Alamos a great place to live for everyone. And I get to experience the joy of almost being trampled by kids excited to play at a newly-renovated playground.
I know every decision I make will not be supported by everyone, but I hope that you will
show your confidence in me by voting for me on June 2.
