COUNTY NEWS RELEASE
Join Los Alamos County for a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of the new deer fence at the Memorial Rose Garden on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 2 p.m.
The community is invited to celebrate the completion of this important project designed to help preserve and protect one of Los Alamos’ cherished public spaces. As the oldest public rose garden in New Mexico, the Memorial Rose Garden has long served as a beloved gathering place for residents and visitors alike. The garden was originally created in 1958, during the Manhattan Project era, as a memorial space at a time when Los Alamos did not yet have a cemetery. The newly installed deer fence will help safeguard the garden from wildlife, supporting its long-term health and beauty for generations to come.
Community members, project partners, and supporters are encouraged to attend and celebrate the completion of the project.
