Family fly fishing clinics are back at Valles Caldera for 2026! These free sessions are a wonderful opportunity to learn about fly fishing from expert instructors. You also have a chance to catch one of the park’s famous wild brown trout!

Family fly fishing clinics with New Mexico Trout are on 6/13, 6/27, 7/11, and 8/1. Tenkara clinics, focusing on a unique Japanese form of fly fishing, will be on 6/5, 6/20, 7/17, and 8/21.

Stay tuned for registration information. Each program is open to 15 participants ages seven and up. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. While the programs, gear, and equipment are free of charge, participants must have a park pass and a valid New Mexico fishing license.
