PEEC NEWS RELEASE

The Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) invites the community to a special planetarium program, “Artemis and the Moon”, 7-8 p.m., Friday, May 8, at the Los Alamos Nature Center.

This engaging presentation will explore NASA’s Artemis missions, which aim to return humans to the Moon more than 50 years after the Apollo era.

The program will highlight what has changed in lunar science and space exploration over the past five decades—from new technologies and spacecraft to updated scientific goals and international partnerships. Attendees will learn how Artemis plans to establish a sustainable human presence on and around the Moon, paving the way for future exploration deeper into the solar system. The program will also reflect on the Artemis I mission as well as the recently-completed Artemis II mission.

This family‐friendly show offers an accessible introduction to the next chapter of lunar exploration and the exciting discoveries that may lie ahead. Admission: $8 Adult, $6 Child, $20 Family. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. Planetarium programs are generally not recommended for children under 5.

This program is part of PEEC’s ongoing effort to bring space science, discovery, and wonder to the Los Alamos community through immersive planetarium experiences.
