Los Alamos County Adopts FY2027 Budget In The Amount Of $350,920,288

Los Alamos County Council on Tuesday evening adopted the FY2027 Budget of $350,920, 288, by a vote of 6-1, with Councilor David Reagor in opposition.

Reagor said the Department of Public Utilities “part of the budget is taking us off a financial cliff in the future”. He said he did not understand the justification given for a new Emergency Operations Center at all.

“I wish we had more discussion on those topics so I will not be voting in favor,” Reagor said.

Council earlier approved FY 27 budgets for the following departments as follows:

Community Services Department $33,542,026 Unanimous

Fire Department $58,258,315 Unanimous

Police Department $20,113,136 Unanimous

Public Works $64,367,263 Unanimous

Department of Public Utilities $94,688,744 Reagor against
Option $900,000

Non-Departmental $8,179,409 Unanimous
