Espanola City Councilor Justin Salazar Torrez is reporting as follows at 8 a.m. Saturday:
“At this time, the incident remains uncontained but is under control. Bureau of Indian Affairs wildland fire crews have assumed command, and a helicopter has been ordered for bucket operations this morning. A debriefing is scheduled for 0800 hours, at which point additional information will be available.
“Most units were released around 0400 hours and are scheduled to return at 0800 hours.
“Current damage assessments indicate the loss of one single-wide residence, one trailer used as a residence, and two outbuildings. No injuries or fatalities have been reported at this time.“
