LIVING TREASURES NEWS RELEASE
Do you know someone you believe should be a Living Treasure of Los Alamos?
Nominations for 2026 Living Treasures will be accepted through May 31. The Living Treasures of Los Alamos (LTLA) board of directors will choose three new Treasures, who will be honored at a ceremony in September 2026.
Living Treasures of Los Alamos celebrates the important volunteer roles that so many of our senior citizens play in our community. Many seniors serve as role models and mentors, providing inspiration with their involvement, commitment, heart and wisdom.
These awards are for the community by the community. Nominees may have had an extraordinary career that was important to Los Alamos, but it is their volunteer efforts outside of their career that make them a good Living Treasure candidate. How has their volunteerism gone above and beyond?
If you have someone in mind, please send a letter of nomination that includes the
following information:
Nominees must be current residents of Los Alamos County.
In which areas did the nominee make volunteer contributions to life in Los Alamos? It is helpful for the packet to include letters from several aspects of a nominee’s service.
How many years has the nominee been involved in community activities?
How did the contributions affect people in the community?
In what ways is Los Alamos a better place as a result of the efforts of this person?
Contact information (name, phone number, or email) of the submitter and the nominee.
Nominations must be submitted electronically by May 31 by emailing the information to livingtreasuresla@gmail.com.
All previous nomination letters are kept in the Living Treasures files for 10 years. For new or previous nominees, additional letters of support from others who know the nominee are greatly encouraged.
