Happy New Year to readers of the Los Alamos Reporter!

Goals for 2026 will reflect those of the more than seven years the Reporter has been providing strong, honest, independent reporting to Los Alamos County and the Northern New Mexico community.

The primary mission of the Los Alamos Reporter is to inform and serve our community through a balance of rigorous investigative reporting and dedicated local coverage. The Reporter is committed to providing transparency in its coverage of the courts and law enforcement, while proudly celebrating the achievements of our students and community members, supporting local organizations, and promoting the growth of small businesses and services in Los Alamos County.

While the Reporter publishes news releases, they are always identified as such, whether it is the plethora of news releases issued by Los Alamos County, Los Alamos Public Schools and other government entities, or announcements of upcoming events or initiatives in the community. It’s important to keep in mind that not everyone chooses to send their material to both the Los Alamos Daily Post and the Los Alamos Reporter, for whatever reason. The same goes for obituaries, birth, engagement and wedding announcements, which are published at no cost, as well as letters to the editor and commentaries.

Moving into 2026, the Reporter invites you to continue sharing your stories, concerns, news tips and feedback.. Together, we keep Los Alamos informed.
