Twenty years ago, the United Church hired a custodian to help take care of not just the buildings, but the whole 4-acres of native woodland and some lawn. Cesar Ojeda has more than fulfilled his duties of keeping the physical plant and grounds in beautiful shape. He, often assisted by his wife, Ana Maria, can be found cleaning floors, and helping to set up, and cleaning up, for numerous events and programs happening at the church, as well as assisting the Thrift Shop, throughout the year. Cesar and Ana Maria are musicians, too, occasionally contributing to worship services.

A few months after Cesar hired on, pastor Keith Lewis answered the call as Youth Pastor at the United Church of Los Alamos. Through his two decades in Los Alamos, the youth of Los Alamos have been befriended by Keith. At the luncheon celebration last Sunday youth and adults stood up to attest to the love they have for Keith and his ministry to them.

The United Church at 2525 Canyon Road, serving all of Los Alamos, is blessed to have Keith and Cesar among us. Here’s to 20 great years and counting! Thank you, Cesar and Keith.
