NMC NEWS RELEASE
The New Mexico Consortium (NMC) is proud to co-sponsor the New Mexico Energy Initiative Symposium, taking place November 18–19, 2025, at the Fidel Center, New Mexico Tech, in Socorro, NM. This two-day event brings together leaders from across the state to collaborate on shaping New Mexico’s clean energy future.
Hosted by New Mexico Tech, the symposium will convene energy professionals, policymakers, educators, researchers, students, and community members for a dynamic exchange of ideas on advancing the state’s energy transition. The event supports ongoing efforts to implement Phase I of the Comprehensive Energy Transition Strategy (CETS) and the Climate Action Plan (CAP), focusing on innovation, data-driven planning, and collaboration across institutions.
Each morning will feature keynote addresses, presentations, and panel discussions with energy leaders from state agencies, higher education, national laboratories, and non-governmental organizations. Topics will include key findings from the baseline policy analysis under CETS, new data management strategies for statewide energy planning, and updates on the Climate Action Plan and the path forward for New Mexico’s energy future.
In the afternoons, the Fidel Center will transform into an interactive open forum featuring booths and poster sessions from research centers, industry groups, and energy associations. Attendees will have opportunities to meet with working groups, student teams, and innovators from across New Mexico to share ideas, explore partnerships, and learn about the state’s most promising energy projects.
An icebreaker reception will be held on November 17th at Deju House at New Mexico Tech, providing a relaxed setting for early networking among attendees.
This symposium offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with those driving New Mexico’s transition toward a sustainable energy future. Registration is free. Learn more at https://nm-secm.org/new-mexico-energy-initiatives-2025-symposium/.
