Active assailant training is underway until 4 p.m. today, Wednesday, at Los Alamos Fire Department Station 2 on DP Road. Residents of nearby apartments contacted the Los Alamos Reporter earlier this morning with concerns about loud “explosion” noise at the facility.

LAPD Dispatch confirmed that there was training at the facility and that they had also been receiving calls from the public.

Following a call to Deputy County PIO Leslie Bucklin, an email was sent to local media stating that residents and businesses in the vicinity “will be able to hear noise consistent with active assailant training operations and should not be alarmed”.
