Editor:

I want to recommend to you three outstanding candidates for the board of UNM-LA. David Hampton needs no introduction. He is running for a full term on the board. I have tremendous respect for him dating to our competition for the District 43 seat. He is active in many aspects of our community and gives generously of his time in many volunteer activities, where his wide experience and business background are much appreciated.

Andy Wright is a fresh face in Los Alamos. He completed a doctoral program at UT Austin and was employed by the university in teaching and developing student programs. Through that experience he learned to be sensitive to the educational needs of todays undergraduates making him a perfect for the UNM-LA Board.

Conner Tharp also was appointed to the board, and is running for a full term. She has recently completed her college and graduate education, and has great insight to the needs of today’s students.

Please consider these three candidates who will work together to build a board based on student needs, educational excellence, and free of ideological nonsense
