Homecoming Week is Sept. 15 – 20, 2025 and will feature a number of events and activities for students, staff and community members.
The Homecoming Parade will be held on Friday, Sept. 19. This year’s Grand Marshall is Los Alamos High School Teacher Lynn Ovaska. The theme for the parade is “Whisker Wipeout.”
The parade will begin at 2:30 pm starting at the Canyon Complex parking lot, proceeding down Central Avenue to Rose Street. Judges will be seated outside the post office.
Staging begins at 1:30 pm at the Canyon Complex parking lot. Floats and vehicles may not be parked at the Canyon Complex lot before this time. Enter via Canyon Road and 4th Street. Walkers should be dropped off at the Mari Mac parking lot, using the Trinity Drive entrance.

The Hilltoppers will host the Capital High School Jaguars in the Homecoming football game Friday night. Gates will open at 5:30pm. Tickets and season passes can be purchased in advance either through the HomeTown Fan app or online through Hometown Ticketing. Tickets can also be purchased at the gate with a credit card. Cash will not be accepted at the gate.
Concessions and Spirit Store will open at 5:30 pm. Cash, credit and debit cards are accepted. A
minimum $5 purchase is required to use a card at the concessions stand. Apple Pay and Google
Pay are not accepted.

PARADE STAGING MAP
Parade Information:
Staging Entrance: All floats & vehicles must arrive via Canyon and 4th Street. DO NOT ARRIVE OR PARK BEFORE 1:30PM!
Floats are lined up in order of arrival at Canyon Complex parking lot. Stop at the entrance for directions.
Walkers & Bike Riders: Stage at Mari Mac Lot closest to Central. Use Trinity entrance for drop off to minimize traffic. LAHS staff will ensure that walkers & bike riders are interspersed with floats once the parade starts.
Bike riders must wear helmets.
Use crosswalks to cross any streets. 4th street and Central Avenue will close before the parade begins.
Parade Route: Central Avenue to Rose Street. Floats may unload after Rose Street. Arrange pickup location with parents ahead of time.
LAHS Administration may remove a float or its participants if unsafe or inappropriate. Participant Requirements: Failure to comply with requirements listed below may result in loss of privilege to participate in this and future Homecoming Parades.
All drivers must be 21+ with a valid license.
No parking in the Canyon Complex parking lot before 1:30pm.
Floats/Vehicles with student riders need 4 adults walking (2 front/2 back). Sponsor or adult designee must stay with students.
Staging Area: keep clean, keep groups together, no running between vehicles.
Candy: Do NOT throw. Walkers may hand out only.
Under no circumstances should participants in one entry interfere with participants in other entries.
Float Safety: Riders seated or holding on securely. Do not overload. no jumping on/off floats.
