PEEC NEWS RELEASE
The Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) will host a free educational presentation, Human Impact on Wildlife, on Thursday, Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. at the Los Alamos Nature Center Planetarium. The program will also be available to attend virtually.
In this talk, Bonnie Klamm, a scientist at Los Alamos National Laboratory and passionate wildlife advocate, will explore how everyday human behaviors, both large-scale and individual, affect wildlife ecosystems. The presentation will cover key topics such as habitat loss, bioaccumulation, and the introduction of non-native species, using real-world examples and data, including from right here in New Mexico.
Attendees will come away with a deeper understanding of the ecological consequences
of human activity and actionable steps they can take to reduce their environmental impact and support wildlife conservation efforts. Admission is free, and both in-person and virtual attendance options are available.
Advance registration is required to receive the livestream link.
