
COUNTY NEWS RELEASE
The Los Alamos County Fair and Rodeo is a free community event that will be held on the 1st weekend of August 2025 (August 1st, 2nd & 3rd). This year Los Alamos County will also coordinate the parade entries.
2025 Parade Theme: Home Grown Country Dreams
Register to enter the parade scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 2, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Register to enter as a contestant: On July 29 & 30, from 5:30 – 9:30 pm, call or Text (719) 580-3022
Vendors: Interested vendors must complete and return a vendor permit forms to the Recreation Division by July 30, 2025. Vendors planning on vending at County sponsored events must have submitted paperwork to the Community Development Division (CDD) for processing.
Rodeo admission prices:
- 2yrs & under: FREE
- Youth (3 – 17) & Seniors (60+): $5
- Adults (18 – 59): $10
- Family of 4: $25
Volunteers Needed: Parade PortionLos Alamos County Recreation Division is seeking Adult Volunteers for the Parade portion of this event. Volunteers will be assigned a location where roadblocks are established to help ensure vehicles do not enter the parade route area. The Parade will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, starting at 10 am. Volunteer check-in is at 9:30 am at the Old Smiths Parking Lot. - 18 years and older

County Fair Exhibits Drop-off & Check-In
Exhibit books are available at both libraries and the NMSU Cooperative Extension Office. Pre-registration non-perishable drop-offs will be accepted July 14 – 25 ( Preserved Foods, Fine Arts, Photography, Spinning, and 4-H exhibits.
Exhibits will be released for pick-up on August 2 from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Mesa Public Library.

- Stroll the Stables, 9:00am – 12:00pm, North Mesa Stables
- Enjoy a walk around the stables with your family as part of the Los Alamos County Fair and Rodeo! Meet the animals up close and learn about horses, goats chickens, geese, and lamas as well as various types of riding. Lots of fun for all ages, and afterwards, stay for day two of the Rodeo!
