The Bathtub Row project has made much progress this past week. Four crews are on site working on the installation of the 14” water line and 4” conduit for broadband, with a grading crew working on the dirt levels on Nectar, plus a concrete crew on Bathtub Row installing curb and gutter and drive pads.

The traffic control plan for 15th Street is shown above. It will be implemented on Monday, July 21. Crews will begin by potholing to locate existing utility lines and identify any potential conflicts. They will then proceed to mill half the width of 15th Street.

You can maintain access to your driveways, but please ask patrons to exercise caution and be aware of the ongoing construction activity.

Bathtub Row Reconstruction Project Update

Construction crews with TLC Plumbing & Utility are continuing work on the Bathtub Row Reconstruction Project—a joint effort between Los Alamos County’s Public Works Department and the Department of Public Utilities. The project includes roadway and utility improvements along Bathtub Row (from Central Avenue to Peach Street), as well as Peach/Nectar Street to 15th Street, and utility upgrades along 15th and 19th Streets. The work is divided into two phases.

Current Road Closures

• Bathtub Row: Fully closed from Juniper Street to Peach/Nectar Street, including the intersection of Peach Street and Bathtub Row, to allow for grading and other roadwork.
• Nectar Street: Fully closed from Bathtub Row to 15th Street for installation of new water lines, broadband conduit, and concrete improvements.
• 15th Street: A lane closure is in place from Oakwood Loop to Central Avenue.

Access and Detours

• Driveways for Central Park Square will remain accessible with the assistance of flaggers and posted signage.
• Community Soccer Park is accessible only from Peach Street via Ponderosa Street.
• Detour signage will be in place to maintain access to all businesses and residences.

Construction Hours and Notifications

TLC crews are scheduled to work Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with additional work on Fridays and weekends as needed. Expect large equipment, increased noise, and active construction zones. The contractor will coordinate directly with affected businesses and residents for specific access needs, utility upgrades, and traffic adjustments.

Essential Services

Mail delivery, trash and recycling collection, school buses, transit routes, and emergency services will continue without interruption.
