First Born Program of Los Alamos would like to invite the Los Alamos and White Rock communities, our partners, supporters, and families to a special event on Tuesday July 22nd celebrating the legacy and retirement of our outgoing Executive Director Ellen Specter and welcoming our new leader, Kristi McBride. This celebration will, foremost, honor Ellen who has long served our County as an elected school board member, member and volunteer for numerous other boards and organizations, former JJAB director, and the Executive Director of First Born, just to name a few. As we say goodbye and congratulations to Ellen, we invite everyone to meet our new Executive Director Kristi McBride and welcome her as she takes the reins at First Born.
Kristi comes to us with a strong background in early childhood services and community-focused leadership. She most recently served as the Home Visiting Program Director at Growing Up New Mexico, where she oversaw home visitors in Santa Fe and Rio Arriba counties. Kristi began working in home visiting in 2018 and has since demonstrated a deep commitment to supporting families and promoting healthy child development. She holds a Master’s degree in Human Services with a focus on Community and Social Services, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Social Services. Her experience, compassion, and dedication to families across northern New Mexico make her a valuable addition to First Born.
Please join us in congratulating Ellen on her retirement and celebrating this moment of transition and growth for our organization—we look forward to seeing you there!
