I thank Bill Mead and Tyler Taylor along with all the signatories for their letter to the editor (https://losalamosreporter.com/2025/07/04/lte-why-must-donald-trump-be-impeached-and-removed/) demanding Congress yet again impeach the president. That idea of our replacement of a representational democracy with an authoritarian regime  is something I’m betting many of us were contemplating today after the president signed his One Big Beautiful Bill.  

On the Fourth of July, We the People celebrate our overarching Myth of America as Land of the Free and Home of the Brave.  Because of the lack of GOP Congressional courage to stand against a president who rules by threats and tantrums—because Congress isn’t brave, we are no longer free.  It’s up to us to be brave enough to stand up and say NO to the toddler in chief.
