The team behind Pig & Fig Cafe is proud to share about a meaningful partnership last month with Esperanza Shelter, a Santa Fe-based nonprofit committed to providing shelter, safety, and healing for survivors of domestic violence.

On Thursday, May 22, Pig & Fig Cafe joined its sister restaurants – Beef & Leaf Cafe and Sugar & Cream Cafe in downtown Los Alamos, for the annual Dine Out For Hope event. During this one-day initiative, 10% of all proceeds from the three restaurants was pledged to benefit and support Esperanza Shelter’s work in the community.

Thanks to the generous support of the Los Alamos and White Rock communities, the event raised a total of $1,057, which was presented to Esperanza Shelter June 10.

“At all of our restaurants, we believe food is more than nourishment, it’s about community,” said chef and owner Laura Crucet. “Supporting Esperanza Shelter is a reflection of our belief in community efforts. We’re honored to play a small role in the important work they do.”

This event is just one example of the Pig & Fig Cafe trifecta’s ongoing commitment to being a positive community force in Los Alamos. Since opening their doors, the cafes have quickly become a destination for those seeking anything from a coffee and a pastry to an upscale comforting meal with a carefully curated wine list, but also for community connection and impact.
