STEP UP GALLERY NEWS RELEASE
The richly detailed art quilts that have hung on the walls of Step Up Gallery will come down on June 5, to make way for the next exhibit. Wednesday, June 4 is the last day to see the exhibit. ”The Quilt as Art” has attracted visitors from all over New Mexico and neighboring states. The themes that these fiber artists have explored are wide-ranging. Some artworks refer to traditional quilts, such as the log cabin and Sunbonnet Sue quilts, while others have more in common with fine art and contemporary painting.
All of the artists are members of the Northern New Mexico Quilt Guild, which supports quilters through education, community service, fellowship and exhibits.
